The other day I purchased a gaming system. I wouldn’t say that I’m a huge video game person but it’s a nice break every so often. Really, I decided to buy it as a reward to myself. Here’s what I mean. Whenever I accomplish a goal or milestone, whatever that is, I treat myself. I think we should all have something small we like to do or enjoy that provides us a little motivation. For those days however, when life seems to beat us up, it will take more than possessions or treats to encourage us. We must find encouragement in the Lord.
“And David was greatly distressed: for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.” (I Samuel 30:6)
If anyone knows about tough situations, it was David. So how did David encourage himself? It’s a matter of perspective. Through praise and worship, David changed his focus from his problem to an Almighty God.
Are we going to tell God how big our problem is? Or are we going to tell our problem or situation how big our God is?
Keep looking up.
This is so true, there is nothing to comment on.You have said enough. The truth helps. Thanks
